N night'schild New member Dec 6, 2004 #2 I like both alot, but I find for vocals I tend to use AT4040 the AT4040 more. The Gt55 is best with bass heavy voices and instruments. the At4040 seems to be a little warmer and smoother, probably has a better mid range response.
