Very interest in transfer live environment to audience.
Main focus: tell the location by foot steps

I know there're few end product out there with very high price.

I would like to made one, it's too complicated to start with reference to the those end product.

So let's start with minimal set, but don't really sure which elements could drop out from the list:
ear structure stimulation, noise proof, material, ... etc

anyone has experience DIY dummy head?

my bad, i should start from example:

I like his idea, hack a model head
but i would like to build(addon) from 0 to create ears (dun need to be a head shape, but a functional device)

to me, it just left and right, not my goal

This is good one, but it just good when the source is very close (the golf one is good, but not real enough for the front)

Goal:
made a dummy head with mic inside on LIVE, try in theatre

Gear:
Zoom H6 (max 6 channel), 2 lav mic

Budget:
start from $0. Just need something buy something, no money then switch to alternative solution

It's not for work, just for experiment & fun at this moment

does binaural filtering means post production?

6 channel solution is good to start, i may try it 2 channel first
i got some cheap sound proof sponge
should i start from building a ear hold?

Hey, sorry man. I just realised my post was complete rubbish! lol.
Please ignore what I said about multi mics etc.

Hopefully someone will come along soon with some real experience. :)

why? sarcasm? (omg. i sounds like sheldon)

i think you said 6 mics is a good idea
(although i don't know how to process them into 2 channel headphone on client side)

No, no sarcasm. I really just dropped the ball!

The point of the two mic binaural set up is that it picks up the room just as a human would (or as close as possible), then you playback on headphones and hear it as if you were there.
No need for more than two mics.

Silly Steen. :(
