best mic pre/compressor to match KSM-32 ??

Just got a Shure KSM-32... great mic used it may times before and had nice results.

I'm currently using the Blue Tube & Blue Max and thats.... OK. I just think that it could be much better.

What mic pre & compressor do you think would give me the best preformance for the dollar?

Please refrain from saying Neve, Avalon, Focusrite, Manley or any of the other big dog pre's out there. Those can make a coke bottle sound good but I can't sell my car for a pre-amp.

whats your $$$ budget?...

will it be for vocals only? if not, what other applications?....

i would go with either a JoeMeek VC3Q or VC6Q, depending on your budget.....
 
but then again , listen to a Grace 101($559) and a RNC compressor ($175) and youll WANT to sell your car for it.....
 
hmm....

Yea I've though 'bout the VC's and the Grace but I haven't used either of them. ....read good stuf about both though.

Whats the RNC compressor? got a homepage for it?
