Audix i5 w/ Shure SM57 Cab Combination.

Curious to know what you guys think of this combination? I've only ever used 57's for live and recording.. Recently tried a i5 and loved how bright & complianting to the highs it was. So I was thinking with the 57 hitting more of the mid and low range, that this may be a great sounding combo.

Currently playing:

Marshall 410H Head & Marshall 1960TV Cab.

Thanks.

That high/mid end difference of the i5 was the only thing that I was going to bring up with this combo.
Might prove to be interesting.
Let me know how this experiment pans out.

Dual miking is pretty common on a lot of things. Personally, I would look for two mics with a much greater sonic differences than a 57/I5. Maybe a 3035 or a ribbon. I don't think an I5 is really that different from a 57 to justify dual miking.
