I have an AT3035, one step below and it is GREAT! no complaints! GET IT
the dude
thanks!!
I have one.
Last weekend I used it as a 2nd mic for bass cabs. Dry was DI, and the wet was the AT4040 in front of any Eden D410XLT. The combination recorded well. Very fat and full.
Yea, it is.
I got a 4047 which is strong on vocals. No doubt, the 40s series are fine mics.
Thanks guys, I should be purchasing it today. I was told yesterday to get a neuman or blueberry mic for recording puroposes. Are they better mics?
The AT4040 is a really nice microphone with a pretty hot output and a fat sound too. I also have an AT4047SV & that thing is da bomb for me in the 40 series! The other microphone I really love is the AKG C 4000B![]()
I have an AT 4047 too. I think the 4040 is good but the 4047 is worth the extra bucks.
It depends on your personal tastes, and what you look for in a mic. But generally speaking, yea, those other mics are much more expensive and there's a reason for that. It's not always the case that expensive mics are necessarily better . . . and certainly I'd say the 4040 outperforms it's price tag, but let's be honest with ourselves here.Originally posted by jdizzel
