my favorite old harp mic finally bought the farm so i decided to give it a make over and replace the element and finally replace the grill that it never had.....problem is i cant seem to find any parts and limited info other than a catalog pdf from 1938. i believe that its a shure 705a and was only produced for 38-39. after extensive web surfing and talking to any vintage mic dealers that would listen(including shure)all im hearing is no dice...is this the last one on the planet? is there any comparable parts i could use? this mic and i go way back and i dont want to retire it to the mantle. any help would be much appreciated yall.

Do a search on "The Mic Doctor" in Florida. No guarantees, but he does a lot of work on really old Shure mics, amphenol cables, etc. If he doesn't have the parts you need, he might know who does. Good luck.

Talk to a machinist and have them make one for you.. always an option, even if it isn't the most affordable thing to do.
