Amd 38-504

I went to the Southern Ohio Guitar Show this past Sunday and picked up a couple of AMD 38-504 mics for $50. These mics are Japan made and are the little sister who wants to be like her big brother, the EV 664. They don't have the ports in them, just black paint.

Both need some serious work as the wiring inside is really thin and breaking (no problem). I also need to replace the 4 pin Amphenol to an XLR (no problem).

I just want to know more about these mics. I can't find anything about them on Google, and I've only seen one on eBay so far going to $30.

2x Shure Spher-o-Dyne
2x Shure "Slim-X" 777
1x older style EV 664 (works)
1x newer style EV 664 (does not work)
1x EV 638

I'll have to post up a bunch of picture someday with all of my collection of vintage microphones.

I pulled them apart today to check them out and the wires inside are snapped at the hinge. Just so happens that there is probably enough extra wire in the casing of the mic to resolder to the switch and/or the plug. I might just bypass the switch, like I did for my 664.
