Has anyone used the AKG C418 "Micromic" drum mics or seen any reviews on them? If so, opinions?

Yes!
I use the 418's (I own five) in conjunction with Senn 421's for tom tom's all the time. I also use them for snare occassionally. Since they are very positionable and they get in close, you can keep your phase interaction to a minimum.
