Anyone tried this mic? Could it be useful for drum overheads, and other acoustic applictions - or is the polar pattern too narrow for that?

I have been offered to buy a used pair for about $250. Any input is much appreciated!

I used a pair of those a couple of years ago for a choir along with my ATM873. Didn't like them too much. They sounded dark and muddy compared to the ATM873, which isn't too good either.

I don't know how they would sound over a drummer's head but I think you could get something better for the money.

The mic I compared to was a AT873R (Audio-Technica). Not ATM873
