Real Newb Midi Controller/Software Question

Hi,

I just got started recording with a Tascam 122 USB interface and Cubasis VST with my guitar, bass (and voice). I would really like to get some hammond organ stuff going - does the following sound like it would work?

1. A Midi keyboard controller
2. Native instruments B4 hammond emulator software

If I get these two things, can I simply start "playing" organ and recording it right into Cubasis?

Thanks,

JD

The version of Cubasis that came with my US-122 did not support VSTi's, so unless Tascam/Frontier/Steinberg are now offering a version of Cubasis that does, the answer would be no.

Some background --- VST is the Steinberg plugin protocol, but there are (at least) two different types of VST plugins. VSTfx, which my copy of Cubasis does support and VST instruments abbreviated as VSTi's which it does not support. Native Instruments B-3 is a VSTi in the plugin version. Tracktion is the audio/midi sequencer that I use, and it will run Native Instruments B3. Download a fully functional demo version here. If you like it as much as I do it's only $80 to buy a copy.
