Cheap keyboard w/ MIDI = Controller?

Hey folks,
I have a cheap Yamaha PSR keyboard and although I can't use it for recording (really noisy so I'm told, and the sounds arent great), since it has MIDI in and out, can I use it as a controller for something like Reason? Or would I be better buying a dedicated controller (theres no mod/pitch wheels on the yamaha :/)

Yes, if your computer has MIDI interface, you can use PSR as simple MIDI controler. It has many limitation, but will keep you bussy for sure until you need some more features (mod, pitch wheel, etc...).
