2 keyboards sharing 1 midi channel

Hi.
I am a home based producer.
I mainly work with acoustic music, but i just bought a bunch of Eastwest instruments.
I don't have a big understanding using midi.

I have a 49note Novation. Iv'e been recommended to buy a 25note keyboard and use it on the same midi channel for operating the keyswitches.
I like the sound of this instead of buying a new 61note keyboard.
This would give me 6 octaves and i'd rather not have to let go the 49 note keyboard un-necessarily.
Is this possible?
Thanks Tom

All of your VSTis, keyboards can work off the same channel, that is not a problem. But when one keyboard fires (sends a signal), it sends it to everything on that channel. That means everything on your MIDI chain will respond. So it should work.

Nice thing about having two keyboards is that one could be say channel 1 for one VSTi and the other on channel 2 for another VSTi in the same DAW, different track. Each one triggering only that VSTi.

Anyway, what you want to do should not be a problem.
