What's in your guitar collection?

The JJ Retro looks interesting. Is that some kind of copy of a PRS?

kind of yes, similar but not exactly the same, personally I prefer them, the JJ Retro has more bite though, it reminds of an SG at times, it is AMAZING for blues stuff and more vintage style rock, I basically use it for everything...when I bought it there were 5 guitars to choose from, a USA made Fender strat, a Gibson USA explorer, a gibson double cutaway les paul, a PRS private stock, and then JJ Retro, the JJ was by far the best sounding to me, I'm in love with the thing, it uses some extraordinary quality woods for the money, if you ever see one second hand grab it like there's no tomorrow.

Well...I'm mostly into acoustic guitars...
Currently I have...

'76 Guild D50NT
'98 Guild Bluesbird
'98 Guild F30R
'02 Guild F4ce
'10 Guild F412
'00 National Estralita Delux
02 National Electro Resonator
'04 Alvarez Acoustic Bass
'68 Alvarez Classical
'20's era Sears Roebuck catalog guitar...this was a basket case...put way more $$$ into repairs into it than I paid for it...or what it's worth...
but has turned out to be probably my fav guitar....
'74 Gibson J40
'00 Martin DM12

Martin 00015S. My go-to guitar.

Ibanez AK105SM. Got the last one in Australia, apparently. Freakin' gorgeous.

Fender Mex Telecaster. Currently stock but will eventually get Frankenstein'd with a bridge humbucker, middle Strat single coil and a Sustainiac neck pickup, and a new neck.

Gibson Melody Maker (in TV Yellow!). The P90 didn't work for me so it's currently got two Seymour Duncan Jazz Humbuckers in it.

Ibanez BTB565 5-string bass. My main workhorse when I was gigging regularly a few years back. Great to play and totally versatile.

Taylor Baby. Bought cheap as a repair job after the previous owner sat on it. Bit warped and ugly but after putting on some decent tuners and tuning down a step it stays in tune reasonably well and serves nicely as a knockabout/travel acoustic.

That lot serves me well, though I am ogling a PRS Torero go heavier/noodlier stuff. Maybe one day...

I did have a Yamaha 12 string acoustic and RBX 4 string bass but both got offloaded recently. There's also been a crappy Kramar 7-string, Epiphone LP Special II and a crappy Superstrat copy in my past.

Road flare red Ibanez RG 550 with an Edge tremolo. I had the EMGs put in later. I could tell you about the other ones, but I know you won't be able to keep your hands off the Ibanez.

Yeah, right.

---------- Update ----------

Not sure, but I'm in the forties.
well, at the mo I think I will be finished when I get some sort of hollow or semi hollow electric. Don't like the big body gibbos, life the hollow teles with the f hole

Ok, I'll play, not many guitars for me, but I have got a lot of gear this year, & my next thing will most likely be another guitar....

So, my guitars are:

Gbson LP Studio
Fender Strat MIM (was H-S-S, but now it's S-S-S)
Ibanez RG350DX (Seymour Duncan Custom Custom bridge p'up)
Oscar Schmidt acoustic
Carlo Robelli 4-string bass

Not many guitars, I've been buying amps, cabs & speakers like there's no tomorrow this year though....:D.

I have a modest collection of medium priced guitars and a few cheapies.
I no longer play in a band and I just do home recording and my guitars do a pretty good job.

Fender F-85 acoustic. Purchased in 1975 for $210 Would have to pay well over $1000 to get the same quality today.
Epiphone Les Paul copy.
Epiphone ES -339 Ultra.
Gibson SG.
Epiphone EBO bass.
Laney 40 watt amp.
Fender Mustang 3.

I'd say that's a pretty decent group. The only thing you really need is a strat-type and you're pretty much covered. You don't have a tele, but teles aren't for everybody and you certainly don't need one unless you're playing twangy country. I've got an EBO too, and I really like it. Also got an Epi LP, and I like it almost as well as any Gibson LP that I've played. Almost. I've really been wanting one of those 339s, but the one that I've played that i liked the best had P90s, and I've got P90s coming out of my ass. I'd also feel like I should get rid of my 335 copy, and I don't know if I could do that.

I'm kind of thin on guitars now since I sold my les paul and my vintage Ibanez with the flying fingers pickups (I regret selling it)

1966 fender strat
Parts caster
1998 Guild DV52 acoustic
Box of parts that will be a humbucker loaded gold metalflakeTelecaster clone.
(if I ever actually make myself get going on it)

Just added this Christmas (thanks to my lovely wife!):

PRS S2 Custom 22*
Fender '69 Tele Thinline*
Yamaha bass
Seagull Natural Elements Mini Jumbo acoustic

*Coming tomorrow although I have played them. Couldn't fit them in my truck with all the other Christmas stuff and the dog so they were shipped out.

Also got a Vox AC15 to add to the amp collection. Guess I was a good boy last year! :D

You just made me feel much better about my own holiday indulgences. Also, nice stable of guitars you've got there!

I too love guitars. I prefer Gibson style guitars, explorers and Les Pauls

Guitars are like women, there all beautiful and I want to finger bang them all, I even want to try out the ugly ones...LOL

Seriously,
My main gtr is a '71 LP Gold Top Deluxe "Tribute"
#2 would be my Breedlove 6 string acoustic.
#3 Epi Thunderbird Gothic Bass, only because I like to play bass and it's the only one I have. I'd like to get a Fender Jazz with a maple neck and black block inlays, a' la Geddy Lee.
#3 Takamine 12 string acoustic.
#4 Electra MPC Rick Derringer model.
#5 Epi LP Custom.

I have several more guitars, I play my Charvel quite a bit. I have a Seagull 12 that I never play any more, fucked up bridge, I have a Kerry King cheapo BC Rich that just hangs on the wall. I got a Decca 12 string with the "Gibson style open book head stock" off eBay for $90 buck just because it's cool looking. (Plays like shit, fucked bridge.) I have an old no name mandolin my mom got me at a yard sale.

For amps, I only have a few, my Carvin V3 which I love. An old Peavey Back Stage Plus, (Piece of shit.) and the Zack Wylde mini Marshall stack, also a piece of shit, or sounds like shit. Oh yeah and my Crate BT220 bass amp, which does the job, (it's loud) nothing special.

And my favorite clunker is a Mahar flying V my son gave me for Christmas a few years ago. He saved his tickets from the arcade and got it for me. I want to be buried with that guitar.

Got any modules for the MPC?

I need to get some mini-hums to put in something, just cause I don't have any.

Nice thread...

Gibson Les Paul Traditional Mahogany Satin
Ibanez Artcore AM73
Fender Koa Telecaster
Yamaha BB 1500-A
Line 6 Variax
Yammy SJ-180 (77 acoustic I have had since I was a youngun')

Next on the list:
Gibson SG Standard
Schecter Tempest
Fender Jazz
Epiphone Casino

Only 1 brand name & that's a Fender 12 string acoustic. MIK I think. The other stuff is no name or worse.
