there is a big guitar show this weekend and I want to find a fuzz pedal. any suggestions. I mean a really '60 fuzz. All that comes to mind right now is Beefheart "drop out boogie" guitar sound thanks

Foxx Tone Machine, or any of the red velvet wah-style pedals (Fuzz/Wah, Fuzz/Wah/Volume, Fuzz/Wah/Volume/Octave). This is the msot crushing fuzz you will ever hear. Can you get good deals at a guitar show?

I had a Gibson Fuzz Tone. Was nice.
I forgot to pinch the legs off of it when I bought it back in the mid 60s and it walked away one night when I wasn't watching it.
Course, no body in the club saw it leave. :(

DON'T buy a VOX TONEBENDER, got to be one of the ugliest sounding fuzzes ever! I had a MOSRITE fuzz pedal about 30 years (gak!) ago that sounded pretty good. I don't remember the model name, but it was in a shiny or brushed metal box. It doesn't seem to have any collector's value since I never see or hear anything about it, so it may be cheap...
