pawn shop deal.

My preferred guitar came from a pawn shop.
Someone had removed the name from the headstock & painted a fair copy of the Gibson logo in its place, had modded the neck pickup so that the bottom E & A strings really popped out. There was a wire rattling around somewhere so it didn't send a signal to the amp in the store. I bought it for AUS$70, connected the wire and it sounded cool - the E A thing was, as far as I can suss out, because the owner sang & played C&W and the bass lines/runs between chords were pronounced. LOVED that guitar - it was stolen during a house break in in about 2003. It cost me $300 & 2 years searching to replace it.

We have several pawns here, most of them are overpriced and clueless. The last thing I bought from one was a blonde ProTone Strat for $100.00.
