I'm working my way towards building a wide dispersion semi-open 2-10 cab and know some of you have way more experience than I do trying different gear out
Using a Mesa C-90 in a Lone Star Special as a ref point- and being pretty happy with that, what would be some speakers to consider?
My conern really is with cleans,and def don’t care for the odd ‘edgy tops on some speakers.
I have the general impression (might be true?) that higher power/efficiency speakers tend to have less break up as part of the sound? Would the C90 fall into that group? I used to use JBL’s so I’m somewhat familiar with those- but it’s been quite a while. I'd consider them, but not particularly inclined to go there.
