20' from guitar to GT-6, 20' more from GT-6 to amp. I like to have lots of extra cable slack so I can throw my effects processor at people flipping me off from the back.

But how can you be sure you aren't losing sound quality, if your 300' away, on the other side of a concrete wall?

Because there was another guitarist in the room where my amp was :D . When I came back, he asked how far I went...because it sounded the same the whole time.

15 or 20, depending on how much room I have. I'll use the smaller lengths just because the cords can get tangled if im not using the whole length, not because of signal loss. The idea that a longer cord will make a difference in sound is crazy, it would only make a noticeable difference comparing a 10 foot cord to a 50 foot cord. Theres no difference in sound between 10 and 20 at all, as long as the cords are of the same quality.
