Hey guys...

For those of us/you that play Ibanez or Fender HM guitars, I thought I would post what the DiMarzio tech guy told me about these pickups. I asked him what the stock pickups that came with my 1990 Fender HM Strat and my 1990 Ibanez S540RTLD were most similar to and for their tonal characteristics. Here's the response:

Fender HM Strat:
DiMazio H1 (bridge) - Actually a rebadged Super 3 (DP152F)
DiMarzio H3 (neck) - Somewhat similar to an Evolution neck model, though the Evo is a little quieter and brighter

Ibanez S540RLTD
IBZ/USA F1 (neck) - Designed to be a bridge pickup, somewhat like a Breed bridge model in power but a little darker sounding
IBZ/USA F2 (bridge) - Also designed to be a bridge pickup, similar to F1 but a little louder with more mids and bass
IBZ/USA C2 (middle) - rebadged HS-2 (DP116)

I have wondered about this for a long time... now I have answers.

Hope this helps someone.
