EMG 5 string PU on a 4 string Bass ??

I have an older Yahmaha Bass that has some long shaped PU's. Can I change these out with some 5 string EMG's PU's?
The dimensions are the same as the stock PU's I am looking to replace. Any advice would be appreciated.

EMGs have a blade type pole piece, so this should work.
