Behringer X32

Had the opportunity this weekend to work a live show with some friends. The board they were using was the Behringer X32 with dual digital snakes, eight monitor sets and an iPad.
PROS
The iPad functionality was exceptional. We could walk around the audience and control volumes, eq, and all sorts of other fun stuff without having to travel to or communicate with someone at the board. Very nice.
Flexibility: We set up several "go to" presets for announcement, small group, large group etc. to keep all the mikes quiet when not in use. We set up different monitoring presets for the different groups that would be playing. All fast and easy. Motorized faders on a $2800 board is MAJOR nice.
Sound quality: we ran through 5 Peavey 1600 amps (one bridged into the subs, three running mains, and one running the stage monitors (all Peavey)). On board dsp was easy and intuitive, the sounds were adequate, but not amazing. The sound of the board through the amps and speakers was very clean and crisp (after we isolated a ground fault/loop problem).
CONS
Quality...the board is only months old and one of the digital snakes failed during setup (better than during live, but still), one of the fader motors was already done and we had to avoid it's channel.

The show was very successful and we did everything from playing music through an iPhone for a dramatization to single person talking to full choral with drums/keys/guitar to drum/key/guitar/bass with vocals and several other setups. Performed well throughout. For the money, this is a great board, but if you're interested, get the extended warranty...you just might need it.
