Use sony ssv230 home theater speaker for mixing?

Hey there,

I have a square room, 10' x 10' and a pair of JBL LSR 305s

JBL LSR305 5" Powered Studio Monitor | Guitar Center

I am wondering if I could use my Sony Home Theater sub to enhance my setup? I currently just run my guitar/mic into a

Focusite Scarlett 2i2, and into my Mac. Any ideas how I would even hook my sub into the mix?

In a room like that, you almost have a cube, assuming a standard 8 ft high ceiling. Can you say acoustics and bass problems?
I'd just stay with the JBLs and forgo the sub.
Oh, and some bass traps in the front corners would be a good idea.
