Ok forum,
I have the above monitors and have had them for at least 10 years. They haven't been used over maybe 200 hours. I am getting interested in recording again. I have a dinosaur Boss BR-1600 CD and an array of respectably decent mics. This setup suits me fine. I am going to be doing more DIY room treatment to get to the next micro-level of "serious". Just recording myself, and I want better mixes.
Not that a little background is laid out, I am trying to decide whether or not to upgrade from these monitors. It will be awhile before I can spend more than 200-250 (4-500 for a pair). Now to my question...has technology improved in ten years to the point that $200 apiece JBLs, Yamahas, Sterling Audio, et al have something more to offer than what I already have?
Thanks with extra points if you read this far
