Howdy everyone. Just wondering if someone out there could tell me: since the TC Electronic M-ONE has S/PDIF ins and outs and 24-bit/48kHz converters, couldn't it be used as a direct A/D D/A converter frontend to soundcards with S/PDIF ins and outs? In other words, if you just bypass the effects (or even if you don't), can't it do the same exact thing that dedicated converters such as the Midiman Flying Cow can do? Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with that specific unit, but yes, I know people who use effect units in just the way that you describe. It would be important, though, that sound quality really is unaffected by the unt when you bypass the effects. That is not always the case.
