I've had a Tascam US-1800 for about 3 years and its worked fine until about a month a ago when I started having some problems. First I noticed my condenser mics have this static in the background, like what wind sounds like hitting the mic membrane, which made it hard to get clear voice (popstoper) or acoustic guitar recordings... I tried a dinamic mic and it seams switching the phantom power off clears the noise. The thing now is I need to set the pre-amp knob all the way up get the weekest signal, the only way i can get it to peek is if i tap on the mic pretty hard or yell right into it...
Does anyone know whats going on with it? I appreciate any help I can get with this!!
