There seems to be a great divide between good Hi-Fi speakers and Studio monitors. Is the situation as simple as Hi-Fi speakers are meant to enhance the music or the listening experience,...and studio monitors are for getting an uncoloured, non-enhanced sound? Studio monitors seem to be much more expensive than the hi-fi type (let's talk larger bookshelf speakers). My questions are:

Are there Hi-Fi classed speakers that try to give an uncoloured sound?
Are there any speakers that seem to walk the line?
And do open port speakers seem to deliver just a restricted few frequencies through the port part? (I realize the speakers handle most of the rest of the frequencies.
