Solid State Hard Drive vs Hard Disc Drive

I want to set up a simple home studio and record my son and myself, upload to YouTube. Is it absolutely necessary to have a solid state hard drive instead of a hard disc drive? Does anyone have any experience with recording with a hard disc drive? I have read that mechanical noise from the HDD could interfere with recording.

You cant tell that you HD is working unless your a dog or a superhero, what you can tell that is on is the fan of the computer. Dont worry about that if that are your goals (YT videos). Put the mic away from the pc and your are set. An SSD drive helps whit performance, not noise.

It's not necessary to have an SSD at all, although they are damn snappy.
I doubt it'd be problem causing but I disagree about the noise.
I was always aware of HDD noise. Wether laptop or desktop, I could always hear spin up and seek pretty clearly.

For a short time I had 10k raptors. I'd go so far as to call those loud.
