Shure SM57 + Terrasoniq Phase x64 = no sound

Hi,
A couple of years ago I purchased myself a SM57 by Shure and a Terrasoniq Phase x64 USB interface, I never manage to get the time needed to set it up. Now however I'd like to try do some recordings by myself, but I can't seem to figure out how to fully understand the Interface control panel. So far I've only managed to get a very low sound with gain on max, but still not good enough for people to fully understand what I'm trying to say over various communication applications.

I'm currently running Windows 8.1 Pro, not sure if that makes any difference.

Phantom power will have no effect whatsoever on an sm57 ( sorry pinky :( )

Can you confirm that you're using an XLR male to female cable, and not a cable with 1/4" plug?
It'd be worth looking through windows sound preferences in case your input levels are being limited there.
 
I'm indeed using a XLR cable from the microphone to the interface, I'll have to spend some more time in the windows preferences when I get back home.
