I have an otari mx5050 mk3-4 and experiencing the following problem . I have used this machine and recorded material and played back recordings but I have not used it for some time and I just decided to use it again .
I try to record on it and everything seems ok ! , until I go to play back the tape that I was trying to record on and the playback level is hardly audible , even when listening through headphones at the loudest setting .
so to experiment I played back some previously recorded tapes that were recorded on this same machine and all is fine , playback is as it is supposed to be .
I even tried recoding over the same tape that I recorded on prior but no playback is heard .
so this machine is no longer recording .
what is going on !
