Hello Guys

I was just wondering what is the ideal distance between each monitor and from the monitors to the listener ?

Is there a formula to hear the best sound spectrum reproduction?

What is everyone else doing with there near fields ?

Thanks Pier

Just will add in here that you might want your speakers a bit OFF THE FLOOR. I have wooden stands that keep my Yorkvilles a few inches off the floor. But, there is a variety of speaker stands; pick one you like and follow the rest of the previous advice.

Another question on positioning nearfields....

Should they be standing up or on their side ?!?

On their side, I suppose the tweaters would be the outer speakers, but how much difference does it make (to *your* experienced ears as opposed to my newbie ears) to have them on their sides?

Thanx.

If all the speaker elements are set in the middle of the speaker, it probably should be standing up, or the different speaker elements will be out of whack.

I'd expect most nearfields are made to stand up.

I believe they should also be about line level with your head not too much lower or higher as they will sound bassier as they get closer to the floor. Also try to avoid corners as that will enhance the low end.
