How to measure in- output of Symetrix SX202

Hi!

I bougt the Symetrix SX202 for 100 Euros (living in NL) from a private seller over the internet.
He didn't ship with any power supply so I needed to get one myself, which wasn't that easy because in Europe 90% of gear = DC, not AC.
I ordered this 16V AC 600mA powersupply on amazon: Rockpower Netzteil / Adapter 16V AC / 600 mA: Amazon.de: Musikinstrumente

Now here is the problem, seller said the preamp is working fine, but it's not - maybe u can help me how to figure out what is wrong:

My cables, DSP (RME multiface), mics are 100% working fine!

I connected the unbalanced output 1/2 (tried every single output) of the Symetrix SX202 with the Input on my RME via 6.3mm jacks.

When I push the polarity or -15dB knob on channel 1, my speakers nearly blow up, very loud crackle - even when +48V isn't activated and no mic is connected. If pushing the knob on channel 2, nothing happens.

Besides that, mic 1 input seems to work - I get an input from the mic.
Channel 2 is silent, I can 100% pullup the Gain, nothing.

Can someone help me figuring out what the problem could be? I think it may has to do with the adapter.

The 16V AC, 600mA adapter shows an output of 19.5V AC when I measure it with my meter. Could that be the problem?
I wasn't able to measure the mA, doesn't show anything.

Please help me.
