Digidesign mBox (1st Gen) hookup problems!

I just bought an original mBox from my friend, I thought it'd do the trick just fine and save me a few bucks...

Although now, I can't seem to get my laptop to recognize the device. I'm running a MacBook Pro which is running Leopard, and I'm doing all my work/sampling on Ableton Live 7.

What I've done so far:
- Hooked up, USB light not illuminating
- Downloaded new Core Audio drivers for Leopard from Digidesign site
- Tried two different USB cables

If someone could help me with setting it up for Ableton to recognize it, that'd be awesome!
 
protools or nuendo is better especially for hooking up m box with eease havent messed with ableton live but my friend has AL7 next time i talk to him ill find out

That'd be awesome to find out what he thinks! I fidle around with Pro Tools at work and such, but I do all of my work in Ableton, so that'd be awesome!
