Hey everyone,
I'm a beginner, so I'll try to keep this simple!
I'm looking for an audio interface to record guitar on my computer with. I use Cubase SX3 and several VST plugins (ezdrummer, Cakewalk Studio Instruments). I only need to record one instrument at a time (my guitar) but I want to hear a MIDI click and my VST plugins (mostly ezdrummer, sometimes other instrument plugins) as I'm recording.
The integrated sound card on my laptop is awful. Latency is huge. I've tried using ASIO4ALL drivers, but they don't work along with MIDI - which I need.
I heard the M-Audio Fast Track USB is a good audio interface for beginners.
What I don't get is whether it is a sound card as well. For one thing, will it solve the compatibility issue between ASIO and the dreaded "MS Wavetable GS Synth" from my integrated soundcard?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
