I have the chance to but a set of Yamaha "power tour custom" drums. They are from 1988,maple shell I think. Any thoughts as to will these be a good set to have in my studio for recording. They are a small set. 20" kick,12 ,13, 16 tom's. I'm not a drummer so help would be great! Jim

They'll sound great. I played these for several years..essentially they were the same as the recording custom, but had "wrapped" shells instead of lacquer... I think these they later called "Rock Tour Custom" .
The Power tour Custom offered longer Kick and Tom Shells.

Thanks Tim,I have the chance to buy these for $600.00. It encludes the five piece kit. 2 nice yamaha cymbals stands,1 Zyldjian 20" cymbal and a 13 1/2 kustom hihat and stand and nice snare stand. Seems to be a good deal,Jim
