Cubase to boss DR880 help needed Please

This is driving me mad.... im sure it is something simple.
I have downloaded a midi track into cubase as i only want the drum pattern,
i have cubase USB out to a moto express and then midi to the dr880.
when i set the outputs on the dr880 to say bass drum indA, and snare to indB (to get them on separate tracks in my recorder) all is ok till i hit stop in cubase the DR880 then sets the outputs back to the default main L+R, so i have to go through the whole process
again, very annoying, funny enough this does not reset the Roland TD12 outputs.
Any advice would be a big help,

AHH HAAAA, its ok found it, i thought i had checked all the controllers in the list editor,
BUT found a sneaky little bug@er hiding in the hihats,
Laughing at me it was,

Yeah I was going to tell you that there is usually a program change message hiding in those pesky downloaded midi files.
