Also, how does a non drummer figure out the time signature? I want to program these drums...

    Thanks!

When I count it out, it sounds like a plan old 4/4. The intro drumsticks count out 3, the very first note is on the 4th beat. Then 4/4 works out evenly from there on.

    Hm, thanks.

To me the main riff (A-G-E) sounds and feels like 3/4. I try to tap 4/4 to it and can't play it on guitar. The opening riff (the slide from F-G) doesn't sound like 4/4 to me, either, but I can't figure out what it is. The rest I can count in 4/4, though it doesn't "feel" exactly right to me not sure why.

Managed 45 secs. Solid 4/4 throughout.just interesting gaps and emphasis. Just count the into two three four and you are in and locked!

LOL 4/4. If there is something weird in there I'm not hearing it. You can steady tap 1-2-3-4 easily through the whole thing. Well, I can. You obviously can't. Keep trying. A lot of things happen on the "ands" and turned around beats. Don't let it throw you off.

Take a basic level music class.
Luckily I grew up before school arts budgets were slashed and had music classes that covered beats and measures in.. I want to say 2nd or 3rd grade?

Also, time signatures are equally important for all instruments.. so if you're serious about learning music, you might consider some intro lessons or a class like I mentioned.

Yeah the offbeat can make ir confusing. I thought that they were cutting one beat, but I listened closely and is definately 4/4.

Dont worry, though, music is much more "feeling" than "knowledge", at least in my opinion.
