QUICK ANSWER anyone?!!

Mixing and Mastering.
Does tuning get rid of ringing and if so, please explain briefly.
What about tape or something like that?

Any quick comments would be appreciated greatley.

Cheersa.

Tuning can effect the ring. But if you need a quick fix moon gels, masking tape, tissue and duct tape.......... work to get rid of some ring when applied to the batter head.

I forgot to say it is the snare drum i am querying about.

If tuned properly it won't ring.
A high pitch ring is usually a result of the heads working against each other.
Once it's tuned and you still want to dampen it dry, just add a snare dead ringer to the top.

Cheers folks, yeah its just sometimes that the ring happens. Maybe when the stick hits the outer of the snare. I will try small tuning adjustements.

How are you tuning it in the first place?

How many half / quarter turns are you using on either head? That will give us a better understanding of why you are getting a ring or not.
